Day 1 - Arrival in Rome

Upon your arrival at Rome airport you will be met by your driver for a private transfer to your hotel in central Rome.
Rest of the day at leisure to familiarize with the eternal city.

Day 2 - Ancient Rome Tour, Catacombs and famous churches

The tour will start with a visit of San Pietro in Vincoli before enteringe Colosseum, the largest amphitheater not only in Rome, but in the world.   Built in the first century AD, the Flavian Amphitheater, commonly known as the Colosseum, named after a colossal statue that stood nearby, until the end of the Ancient Age accommodated games of great popular appeal, such as hunts and gladiator fights.
Then you will walk through what was once the political, administrative and religious center of Rome, The Imperial Forum. You will then visit the Campidoglio and S. Maria in Aracoeli.
In the afternoon private transfer to the Catacombs. You will visit one of the 5 catacombs open to the public. There are over 60 catacombs in Rome where over 500,000 Christians were buried from the 2nd  to the 5th century AD. The tour ends with a visit St. Paul outside the wall, the second largest basilica in Rome, bfore begin transferred back to your hotel.

Day 3 - Ostia Antica & Caracalla bath

In the morning visit to Ostia Antica. This tour will show the everyday life of ordinary people in ancient roman times.
The Harbour city of Ancient Ostia lies at the mouth of the river Tiber. It was founded as the very first colony of Rome in the 6th century BC and was completely abandoned in the 6th century AD. Then malaria became endemic in the area and the city, whose population may have been nearly 100,000 at its peak, was totally abandoned. Buried for centuries by sand, the city is remarkably well preserved. Its buildings, blocks, villas, thermal baths, temples of all religions, restaurants, public toilets told us the story of common people day-life in roman age.
In the afternoon visit of the Caracalla baths. One of the largest and best preserved ancient thermal complexes, were built in the southern part of the city under the initiative of Caracalla, who dedicated the central building in 216 AD. 

Day 4 - Basilicas of Rome

In the morning your tour guide will tell you about some of the most important churches of Rome:                    the Basilica of St. John Lateran with the holy stair, The Basilica of the Holy Cross in Jerusalem and the Basilica of St. May Major.
Rome has over 900 churches from different periods and with different styles. Learning about the churches of Rome means knowing about the history of  Rome.
The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 5 - Villa Adriana and Villa D’Este in Tivoli

Today’s excursion will take you to Tivoli to admire Hadrian Villas and Villa D’Este.
Built between 118 and 138 AD as a private summer retreat of the emperor. With over 30 complexes and covering an area of approx. 300 acres, the villa was the greatest Roman example of an Alexandrian garden, recreating a sacred landscape. The remains of the complex still shows the magnitude of what was once the greatest villa ever belonged to a roman emperor.
In the afternoon visit of Villa d’Este, masterpiece of the Italian Garden, is included in the UNESCO world heritage list. With its impressive concentration of fountains, nymphs, grottoes, plays of water, and music, it constitutes a much-copied model for European gardens in the mannerist and baroque styles.

Day 6 - Vatican Museum and St. Peter Basilica

The tour will start skipping the line at the Vatican Museums, one of the largest museum complexes in the world. Located in the grand and magnificent Vatican Palaces, there are over 7 kilometers of galleries to be seen. They display works from the immense collection built up by the Roman Catholic Church throughout the centuries, including some of the most renowned classical sculptures and most important masterpieces of Renaissance art in the world.
The galleries will lead visitors to the breath taking Sistine Chapel, famous for its architecture and its decoration that was frescoed throughout by Renaissance  artists including Michelangelo, Sandro Botticelli,  Pietro Perugino, Pinturicchio and others. 
It is without doubt one of the greatest art treasures of all time, one of the most celebrated masterpieces in the world. 

After the tour you will have time on your own for lunch and explore Rome on your own.

Day 7 - Walking Tour of the famous squares in Rome (Optional tour of the Gianicolo, Trastevere, the Tiber Island and the Jewish quarter)

This morning you will visit the most important sites of Rome such as Piazza del Popolo, Piazza di Spagna, Trevi Fountain, S. Ignazio, Pantheon and Satan Maria Sopra Minerva and Piazza Navona.
You will Experience the fascination of the Eternal City! Your English-speaking guides take you to spectacular ancient Roman ruins, masterpieces of the Renaissance, delightful Baroque fountains, and charming medieval backstreets!
After the tour you will have time on your own for a last stroll through the streets of Rome.

Day 8 - Departure

After breakfast transfer to Rome Airport for your flight back home!
