Day 1 - DEPART FROM THE USA

Board your overnight transatlantic flight (cost not included in land only price).

Day 2 - ARRIVE IN PARIS, FRANCE

Welcome to Paris, the “City of Light!” After checking in, there is time to relax. Tonight, enjoy a Welcome Reception with your Travel Director. Later, an evening drive shows off highlights of this beautiful city. (Welcome Reception)

Day 3 - PARIS SIGHTSEEING & AT LEISURE

A sightseeing tour with a Local Guide includes an ascent of the Eiffel Tower to the second level, where you have grand views across the city. Next, see the Champs Élysées, the Arc de Triomphe, Place de la Concorde and Notre Dame Cathedral on the Île de la Cité. The rest of the day is free to explore, shop or perhaps take a trip to the Palace of Versailles. (Breakfast)

Day 4 - PARIS / TGV TRAIN / AVIGNON

Take the speedy TGV Train south, through the vineyards of Burgundy to the Rhône Valley. On arrival in Avignon, an orientation tour includes views of the impressive Palace of the Popes and the ruined bridge straddling the River Rhone, the inspiration for the French song “Sur le Pont d’Avignon.” (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 5 - AVIGNON / ARLES / AIX-EN-PROVENCE

See the Pont du Gard, then on to the village of Les Baux-de-Provence. In Arles, see the Roman amphitheater and Romanesque cathedral, and enjoy a guided walking tour of the city which has so many associations with the great artist Vincent Van Gogh. End the day in elegant Aix-en-Provence, joining your companions for a You’re Personally Invited dinner in a Provençal family restaurant. (Breakfast, Personally Invited)

Day 6 - AIX-EN-PROVENCE / CANNES / NICE

Drive through the scenic hills to the coast and the glitzy resort of St. Tropez, the playground of the rich and famous. Take a boat trip to neighboring Ste. Maxime, then continue by coach to Cannes. See the Film Festival Center on the Boulevard de la Croisette, and then on to Nice, the capital of the Côte d’Azur. Take an orientation drive along Promenade des Anglais, and view Place Masséna, the Old Town and the port. This evening, savor a Highlight Dinner of local specialties in one of the city’s many bustling restaurants. (Breakfast, Highlight Dinner)

Day 7 - NICE AT LEISURE / MONACO EXCURSION

Relax this morning, with plenty of time to stroll along the Promenade des Anglais and browse in the boutiques. Then take a scenic ride to visit the Principality of Monaco. See the Palace of the ruling Grimaldi family and St. Nicholas Cathedral, where Princess Grace and Prince Rainier were married. (Breakfast)

Day 8 - NICE / ROUTE NAPOLEON / LYON

Follow part of the Route Napoleon, heading inland via Manosque and the Durance Valley to the town of Sisteron. Take the alpine route along the Col de la Croix to Lyon, France’s second largest city. (Breakfast)

Day 9 - LYON / BEAUNE / PARIS

Journey past the vineyards of Macon to the city of Beaune. There’s time to browse through the shops before departing for Paris. Tonight, relish a Farewell Dinner with newfound friends. (Breakfast, Farewell Dinner)

Day 10 - DEPART PARIS

You will be transferred to the airport (conditions apply), where your vacation ends. (Breakfast)
