Today we embark on a full-day tour of Beijing. Tour the incomparable Forbidden City, home to two dynasties spanning 500 years. This architecturally stunning 200-acre compound, with more than 800 buildings and 9,000 rooms, houses a vast collection of imperial treasures and cultural artifacts. Visit Tian'anmen Square, the world's largest public square, and site of Mao Zedong's Mausoleum and the Great Hall of the People. Rounding out the day is a tour of the Hutongs (backstreets of Beijing), and a delicious Peking Duck dinner this evening. Meals Breakfast – Lunch – Dinner
No visit would be complete without an excursion to see the Great Wall; truly one of the greatest feats of human engineering, stretching nearly 4,000 miles long. Begun in the 7th century B.C., final additions were completed in 16th century A.D. and originally built to keep out invaders of the north. Back in the city this afternoon we visit the beautiful Summer Palace, home to China’s largest imperial garden. Meals Breakfast – Lunch
This morning tour the Temple of Heaven, a masterpiece of Ming architecture built for imperial sacrifices conducted on the summer and winter solstices, and one of Beijing's grandest attractions. In the afternoon fly to Shanghai, China's famous port city and former "Paris of the East." Meals Breakfast - Lunch
A full-day tour of Shanghai takes us to see the famous waterfront “Bund” area, lined with many stately buildings of European architecture from pre-1949. Visits today also include Yu Garden, with its many halls and pavilions, Shanghai Museum, Jade Buddha Temple, and the Xintiandi area. This evening enjoy an acrobatic show after dinner. Embark on a full-day excursion to neighboring Suzhou, nicknamed "Venice of the East." Visit the Master of the Nets Garden, Humble Administrator's Garden, and take a canal cruise with lunch. Afterwards return to Shanghai and your hotel. Meals Breakfast – Lunch
