Proceed to Lot Cave then to Bethany. This is where Jesus Christ was baptized by John the Baptist in Jordan River and where he lived. Continue to Madaba - the famous mosaic city. Madaba's chief attraction - in the contemporary Greek Orthodox church of St. George - is a wonderfully vivid, 6th century Byzantine mosaic map showing the entire region. Proceed to Mount Nebo for a spectacular view across the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. On a clear day the spires of the churches in Jerusalem are visible in the distance. Mount Nebo is believed to hold the tomb of Moses, a lonely, windswept hill, protecting the ruins of a 4th and 6th century church, whose floor is still covered with marvelous mosaics. After breakfast, proceed to Amman for city-tour. Amman, the modern and ancient capital of Jordan, is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the World. The citys modern buildings blend with the remnants of ancient civilizations. You can visit: Temple of Hercules, which was built in the reign of the Emperor Marcus Aurelius (161-180 AD), The Byzantine Church, which is thought to date from the 6th or 7th century AD and The Roman Amphitheater (2nd century AD). We continue to Jerash, is the grandeur of Imperial Rome being one of the largest and most well preserved sites of Roman architecture in the World outside Italy. To this day, its paved and colonnaded streets, soaring hilltop temples, handsome theaters, spacious public squares and plazas, baths, fountains and city walls pierced by towers and gates remain in exceptional condition. Then proceed to Umm Qays, situated 110 km north of Amman on a broad promontory 378 meters above sea level with a magnificent view over the Yarmouk River, the Golan Heights, and Lake Tiberius, this town was known as Gadara, one of the most brilliant ancient Greco-Roman cities of the Decapolis; and according to the Bible, the spot where Jesus cast out the Devil from two demoniacs (mad men) into a herd of pigs (Mathew 8:28-34). Then we proceed to Pella; is one of the most ancient sites in Jordan and a favorite of archaeologists being exceptionally rich in antiquities. In the evening return to Amman for overnight. After breakfast, proceed to Mukawir, this dramatic hilltop is the traditional site of the execution of John the Baptist. It lies less than 20 km southwest of Madaba at the Kings Highway on a stark promontory (720 m), overlooking the Dead Sea and protected on three sides by deep ravines. Here John the Baptist was beheaded after Salomes fateful dance (Matthew 14:3-11). We continue to Moses Springs, and then proceed to Petra for overnight. Meals Breakfast
