ITINERARY
Day 1 - Antigua Guatemala

Upon arrival your guide will greet you at La Aurora International Airport and then you will be transferred to the City of Antigua Guatemala.
After a transfer of approximately an hour to Antigua you will have the rest of the day free for your own leisure  
 


Day 2 - Chichicastenango Market - Lake Atitlan (Sunday or Thursday)

After breakfast, around 8:00 a.m. we will head to Chichicastenango (2.5 hour) to enjoy the multicolored ethnic market, where the scent of incense and the people’s mysticism promises a unique atmosphere, bargaining of prices, and a church with mixed Mayan and Catholic traditions. 
This is a market that every Thursday and Sunday appears and disappears as one of the ancient commercial traditions of the Guatemalan highlands and that now delights the visitors. In the afternoon, transfer to Panajachel. (1 hour)
 


Day 3 - Lake Atitlan tour

This morning you will take a scenic boat ride across Lake Atitlan (30min) to the village of San Juan La Laguna where you can visit the women’s textile cooperative to see hand weaving and the natural dye process. Visit the studios / homes of the celebrated naïf painters, and the then continue to the village of Santiago.  After lunch, you will continue your tour to the village visiting the Maya God Maximon and learn about the textiles, spiritualism and beliefs of the T’zutujil Maya. 
 


Day 4 - Cerro de la Cruz - Azotea - Walking tour

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Cerro de la Cruz (The Cross Hill) where you will have amazing views of Antigua Guatemala. Then continue the journey visiting la Azotea coffee farm, where you will be able to learn about the growing process and will be able to visit Casa Kojom, which is a museum dedicated to preserve our traditional music. 

Later it is time for our walking journey to visit ruins, churches and museums.  In this city, the stories and legends of the colonial times are still present along with the old paved streets. 
 


Day 5 - Antigua - Ruta de las Flores - El Tunco La Liberdad

8:00 am, transfer to La Libertad, El Salvador, on route you will have the opportunity to visit some villages such as Juayua, Ataco, Apaneca, Nahuizalco, Salcoatitan and Tacuba, that together are called Ruta de las Flores.
 


Day 6 - Mayan route

Visit the Pompeii of America, the archaeological site Joya de Ceren (35 Kms), declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 1993. Later, visit the Ruins of SanAndres.
Lunch at the city of Santa Ana and scenic tour through the city: Santa Ana’s Gothic Cathedral and the Santa Ana’s Theater. Visit the archaeological site Casa blanca and Tazumal Ruins.
 


Day 7 - El Salvador - Copan Honduras

8:00 am, after breakfast we will continue our adventure heading to Honduras, where is located Copan, one of the most important archeological sites of the Mayan World.
After check-in, transfer to Copan Archaeological site where will make our tour, accompanied by our expert guides who will lead us through the ceremonial center, the ball court, the hieroglyphic stairway and the acropolis where you will be astonished by the revelation of one of Copan’s best kept secret: the discovery of the Rosalila Temple which was hidden for centuries.
 


Day 8 - Copán - Coban

After breakfast we will leave Copan, Honduras and we will drive for 6,5 hours to the Coban Area. Upon arrival free time. 
 


Day 9 - Semuc Champey - KanBA Caves

Today 4x4 transfer to visit Semuc Champey, this is a beautiful series of small ponds and pools on a natural land bridge that crosses the Cahabon River, The Cahabon River submerges itself at the entrance of Semuc Champey and resurfaces about 400 meters later after it passes this natural limestone bridge suspended with beautiful crystal clear ponds. In this unique natural formation, you have water with shades of light green emerald to dark blue sapphire.
Later, visit KanBa Caves, and after this visit transfer back to hotel.
 


Day 10 - Coban - Rio Dulce

Today after breakfast you will be transferred to Rio Dulce, this is about a 6,5 hour drive from the Coban area. Upon arrival you will have free time. 
 


Day 11 - Livingston - Peten

Breakfast at hotel and then we will take a tour on this Garifuna village Livingston and then we will continue our tour through the Río Dulce River visiting the island of the birds, where we will have the opportunity to take pictures of the birds that live on this island.
After this we will go back to Río Dulce village and board our bus and head to Flores area. A few kilometers from Río Dulce we will find the border for the departments of Izabal and Petén, where you will notice a change in the vegetation with a warm-humid climate. 
 


Day 12 - Tikal National Park

Today you will have a tour going through the most important city in the Mayan world, a mixture of nature and archaeology. Abundant wildlife, the Mayan forest, millennial temples silent witnesses of the birth and splendor as well as of the collapse of one of the most important civilizations in the planet, all this is in our visit to Tikal, The City of the Voices.
 


Day 13 - Yaxha National Park - Melchor - San Ignacio

After breakfast, transfer to Yaxha National Park (approx 1hr).  Here we will walk through their causeways under an exuberant tropical forest, where howling monkeys flood the atmosphere with their howls to impress the females or to move away an intruding male in their flock. We will climb some temples that are the photographers' accomplices, as they offer wonderful views. We will conclude the day in the high part of the temple 216, the highest structure in the place, where we will enjoy an unforgettable evening listening to the birds sing. After tour, transfer to Guatemala border with Belize. Then you will be transferred to San Ignacio area
 


Day 14 - Aktun Tunichil Muknal - Placencia

Transfer to the Site, the “Cave of the Stone Sepulcher" is one of the most impressive caves in the Maya Lowland. Located in the heart of the Belizean Rainforest, this cave was a sacred place to the prehistoric Maya of Belize.
Upon arrival, you will be outfitted in the necessary equipment for the Caving Adventure. During 3 hours climbing and caving activities will be essence you will enjoy.
You will be delighted with this amazing cave which comprises of a cave system with a series of chambers, ending in a 300 by 50-meter Cathedral where sacrificial ceremonies once took place. After tour transfer to Placencia area (approx. 2.5 hrs.)
 


Day 15 - Placencia (unguided)

The coming 2 days are free days, for you to relax or do some scuba diving! 
 


Day 16 - Placencia (unguided)

Relax or do some scuba diving! 
 


Day 17 - Placencia - Belize city (unguided)

Private transfer from Placencia to Belize International Airport on time to catch your international flight back home.
